John has been working an professional artist since he began his art training in 1970. He has completed several public commissions, and his work has enhanced many corporate and private collections worldwide.
Although working in a variety of media, Sculpture has always been the primary focus of his art, and his sculptures have ranged widely over the years from representative to purely abstract. John draws most of his ideas from nature and from the human form. His sculptural work has taken him to many exotic places from the Arctic to Europe and Asia where he always travels with his sketch book, drawing and collecting "inspiration".
"I prefer to work with stone, steel, bronze and cement, either alone or as multi-media compositions. This allows me to best sculpt the form and texture that will best express my creative intention."
John lives and works at his home and studio just outside Nelson B.C. Where he is currently creating a sculpture garden on his property.
